We’ve been exploring CES 2024 releases since early December. By now, it’s been quite positive in terms of promising new tech for this year. The show officially begins today. But going by the big tech already announced, I think spatial computing is big this year. Blending virtual experiences into the physical world by breaking free from screens isn’t something new in the world of tech. But everything so far has mostly been theory or too far-fetched prototypes. But with Apple finally going for a launch date with Vision Pro, things seem to have taken a leap. And, today we are here to discuss 3 technologies that seem to be the future of spatial computing for 2024.

First up is the Sony Spatial Content Creation Headset.

This announcement from Sony has got me seriously excited! They’re rolling out this immersive spatial content creation system that’s loaded with high-tech features. Picture this: a head-mounted display boasting 4K OLED Microdisplays and a video see-through function. These will be paired with controllers tailor-made for seamless interaction with 3D objects. The aim? To support creators in crafting sophisticated 3D content. Sony’s collaboration with Siemens, a powerhouse in industrial tech, promises a new immersive design. Additionally, it’s a collaborative product engineering solution, exclusively at launch.

The system sounds like a game-changer! With its XR head-mounted display and Sony’s rendering tech, it promises real-time, HD rendering of textures and facial expressions in 3D objects. What’s more, those six cameras and sensors offer an intuitive way to sculpt virtual creations. The Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 Platform by Qualcomm sounds like the cherry on top. They power these displays to deliver mind-blowing image quality. Sony’s stepping up the game by empowering creators to merge physical and digital spaces seamlessly for an immersive experience. This kind of technology could redefine how we create and collaborate across industries. They will be breaking barriers between the physical and virtual realms!
